Kenseth claims his 1st Winston Cup victory, holding off Bobby Labonte after grabbing the lead on the final round of pit stops. The race had been dominated through the 1st half by Jerry Nadeau, but a faulty valve spring ruins his night. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. takes over and dominates the rest of the way, sprinting away from the field before falling back after the last pit stop.

Earnhardt, Jr. finishes 4th following home his dad, Dale Earnhardt, who finishes 3rd.
