Park grabs the lead a third of the way through the race, and holds until the 2nd pit stop sequence, regaining the front spot as the stops cycle through. Park then leads the last 27 laps, holding off a late charging Mark Martin in the final laps for his 1st Winston Cup victory.

Jeff Burton finishes 3rd while Robby Gordon comes in 4th. Jeff Gordon gets into an early skirmish with Tony Stewart and finishes 23rd, seeing his streak of 6 straight road course wins come to an end.
