Michael Waltrip claims his 1st win after 462 starts as teammate Dale Earnhardt, Jr. pushes him to victory, however, team owner Dale Earnhardt dies after crashing into the wall on the final lap while running interference for the pair.

Waltrip's dash to the victory comes after the "Big One" claims nearly half of the field with just 25 laps remaining. Waltrip dominates after the re-start as Sterling Marlin struggles to recapture his dominant form.
