Luis Tiant frustrates the Reds again as the Red Sox even the series with a 5-4 win.

Tiant battles through as Boston overcomes a 2-0 hole early with a 5-run 4th inning, once again highlighted by Tiant's bat. After Dwight Evans triples home 2 runs and Rick Burleson follows with run-scoring double off Fred Norman, Tiant keeps the rally going with a single and then scores on a single by Carl Yastrzemski.

Tiant collects 2 hits, giving him 4 in the series. Not in his Game 1 form when Tiant shuts out Cincinnati, he manages to go the distance, working around 9 hits and 4 runs.
