Mets rally to beat the Astros 6-5 with late-inning drama.

Houston cruises 4-0 behind Bob Knepper's pitching and Bill Doran's 2-run HR in the 2nd. However, a 3-run shot by Darryl Strawberry in the 6th highlights a 4-run inning, and Lenny Dykstra drives a 2-run HR into the seats in the bottom of the 9th after the Astros regain the lead.

The Astros answered New York's 4-run inning when Bill Doran walks on 4 pitches and then scores on a groundout by Denny Walling in the top of the 7th. However, closer Dave Smith can't make the lead hold up. Wally Backman leads off the bottom of the 9th with a weak tapper that he turns into an infield single, and then with 1 out, Dykstra drives a Smith offering into the rightfield stands to win it.
