A night after a stunning walk-off HR wins it for Los Angeles, the Dodgers take a 2-0 lead in the series behind an all-around starring effort by Hershiser. Hershiser blanks Oakland on 3 hits, while collecting 3 hits of his own, including a pair of doubles. Dave Parker collects all 3 of the A's hits as Hershiser quiets the rest of the lineup with 8 strikeouts.

The Dodgers put together 1 big inning against Storm Davis to doom Oakland. After Hershiser and Steve Sax single in the 3rd, Franklin Stubbs and Mickey Hatcher follow with RBI-singles and then Mike Marshall delivers a 3-run HR.
