Mays goes 8 dominant innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run silencing the Angels' bats against the Metrodome din. The Angels manage their lone run with the help of an error when Cristian Guzman fails to pick up a routine grounder in the top of the 3rd allowing Adam Kennedy to score with 2 outs.

Minnesota had gone up in the bottom of the 2nd on A.J. Pierzynski's Sac Fly. The Twins go back in front on Corey Koskie's RBI double in the 5th.
