The Curse?

Leading 3-0 in the 8th, the Cubs meltdown on the doorstep of the World Series. After cruising though much of the game, Mark Prior's night falls apart 5 outs from a trip to the Series. After Juan Pierre reaches 2nd base, controversy takes over as a foul ball into the stands is touched by a fan, preventing Moises Alou from retiring Luis Castillo, who eventually walks.

When Alex Gonzalez boots a simple play against Miguel Cabrera, preventing at least a 2nd out, the meltdown is in full gear. Derrek Lee doubles home Castillo and Ivan Rodriguez to tie the score. Jeff Conine adds a Sac Fly to push across the go-ahead run as Florida eventually plates 8 runs in the inning.
