Philadelphia rides a 5-run 5th and 3-run 8th to beat back Los Angeles. Carlos Ruiz's 3-run HR sparks the Phillies' big 5th. Ryan Howard later doubles home 2 more runs to give Philadelphia a 5-1 lead.

After Los Angeles immediately answers with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th, the Phillies add some insurance with Raul Ibanez's 3-run HR in the 8th. The Dodgers attempt to rally in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs, but Brad Lidge stops Los Angeles' rally.
