Game Notes

Rangers bounce back with a 7-2 win over the Yankees.

Texas recovers from blowing a 5-1 lead in the 8th inning of Game 1, to even the series behind a solid performance by Colby Lewis followed by no bullpen meltdown this time. Lewis goes 5 2/3 innings, allowing 6 hits, departing after Robinson Cano's massive HR cuts the Rangers' lead to 7-2.

The bullpen follows, allowing just 1 hit over the final 3 1/3 innings. Offensively, Texas gets to Phil Hughes early. Elvis Andrus steals home in the 1st. David Murphy has a solo HR in the 2nd, with Michael Young adding an RBI-double. Murphy then doubles in a run in the 3rd before scoring on Benji Molina's double.
