Another big finish lifts the Rangers to a 7-3 win over the Tigers in 11 innings.

Texas escapes into extra innings when Nelson Cruz nails Miguel Cabrera trying to score in the bottom of the 8th. After Mike Napoli's single scores Josh Hamilton for the go-ahead run in the 11th, Cruz then crushes Jose Valverde's offering 413 feet into the bullpen for a 3-run HR.

Cabrera's 2-run double in the 3rd gave Detroit hope it could even the series, in a game delayed 2 hours, 13 minutes by rain before the opening pitch. However, the Rangers strike back with 3 runs in the 6th as Ian Kinsler doubles home a run, then scores on Elvis Andrus' single before Michael Young drives home the go-ahead run. Brandon Inge draws the Tigers even with a solo HR in the 7th.
