Rookie Matt Moore makes just his 2nd MLB start, and delivers like an ace, going 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits in the series opener. With the Texas lineup silenced, Tampa Bay erupts at the plate with Kelly Shoppach leading the way with a pair of HRs off the Rangers' ace C.J. Wilson.

The Rays jump on Wilson early with Johnny Damon delivering a 2-run HR in a 3-run 2nd, followed by Shoppach's 3-run blast in the 3rd. Shoppach adds a 2-run shot in the 5th to give Tampa Bay an 8-0 cushion.
