Minnesota completes the sweep, but misses out on a potential no-hitter when Kevin Slowey is lifted after 7 innings and no hits allowed due to pitch count. The bullpen then gives up the no-hitter and shutout before stopping Oakland's rally.

The Twins lead 1-0 on a ground rule double by Jason Kubel before Jim Thome's 3-run blast in the bottom of the 7th. With the cushion, the game is turned over to the bullpen by Jon Rauch gives up a double to Cliff Pennington with 1 out in the 8th.
