Tigers open their new Park with a frigid 5-2 win over the Mariners.

After a light morning snow, Detroit's new stadium makes its debut as Brian Moehler scatters 10 hits, 1 earned run and 1 unearned run over 6 innings. Moehler gives up the 1st hit in the new park on a single to John Olerud in the 1st inning.

However, the Tigers move ahead of Seattle when Greg Jeffries singles home Luis Polonia in the 1st and then scoring on a balk by Freddy Garcia. The Tigers add 2 more runs in the 2nd for a 4-0 lead on Bobby Higginson's 2-run triple.
