Reds weather the rain and a Nationals' rally for a 8-7 win.

Mike Leake goes 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run before the rains come and result in a 2-hour, 40-minute delay in the bottom of the 5th with Cincinnati leading 5-1. Trying to stay within 1/2 game of St. Louis in the NL Central, the Reds come back and tack on 3 more runs in the 5th.

However, with Leake not returning after the rain delay, the Reds' bullpen struggles to hang onto the lead. Ryan Zimmerman's 2-run HR sparks a 6-run 6th inning to pull Washington within a run. However, Nick Masset, Arthur Rhodes and Francisco Cordero combine for 3 innings of hitless relief to deny the rally.
