It takes a passed ball by Jeff Mathis to let Jeff Francouer score, helping Texas overcome its offensive slump, and reduce the Rangers' Magic Number in the AL West to 4. Texas manages just 5 hits, but one is Francouer's leadoff double in the 12th. Benjie Molina's sac bunt advances Francouer setting up the winning run.

The Angels tie on Mike Napoli's solo HR in the 7th off C.J. Wilson.
