Texas beats up on Tim Wakefield for 6 runs in the 1st inning and cruises behind Tommy Hunter and the bullpen. Vladimir Guerrero puts the first run across with a single, Josh Hamilton adds an RBI-single and then Nelson Cruz's 2-run single and Benjy Molina's 2-run HR do the big damage.

Cruz's RBI single in the 3rd makes it 7-0. Hunter does the rest, going 6 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. Darren Oliver and Alexi Ogando get the final 7 outs, 5 by strikeout.
