Joey Votto makes an All-Star statement in the Reds' 8-6 win over the Mets.

Votto, one of 5 finalists, for the final All-Star spot homers twice to lift Cincinnati past New York. Votto's solo shot in the 1st starts the Reds, and his solo shot in the 6 is key insurance after the Mets cut a 7-1 margin to 7-6 with 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th.

Tied 1-1 in the 5th, Cincinnati gets the go-ahead run when Mike Pelfrey hits Scott Rolen with the bases-loaded. The Reds then tack on 5 more runs, but the Mets answer in the bottom of the inning.
