Jim Thome doubles home the go-ahead run in a 3-run 8th as Minnesota breaks a 2-2 tie. The outburst sets the stage for Joe Nathan to become the Twins' all-time saves leader with his 255th career save after working a perfect 9th.

Nathan surpasses Rick Aguilera as Minnesota's leading fireman. Danny Valencia doubles home an insurance run in the 8th, and adds another himself.
