Bobby Kielty goes 4-for-4 with 4 runs and 3 RBIs, while David Ortiz homers twice and Michael Cuddyer collects 3 hits and drives in 4. Kielty starts Minnesota's night with a 2-run HR in the 2nd, and later ties it with an RBI-triple in the 4th after Detroit took a 3-2 lead. He scores the go-ahead run on a single by Cuddyer.

Ortiz breaks the game open with a 2-run HR to get a 5-run 5th underway. He adds a solo shot in the 7th. Joe Mays, making his 1st start for the Twins in 3 months, goes 6 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs for his 1st win of the season.
