Staggering into the All-Star break and dropping the 1st game of the series with Chicago, Minnesota steadies itself by Francisco Liriano. Liriano goes 7 2/3 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8.

The Twins convert 2 singles, and infield single and a throwing error into a 4-run 4th inning to jump on the Sox. Joe Mauer breaks the game open with a 2-run double in the 8th for a 6-2 lead. Michael Cuddyer tacks on another run in the inning with a run-scoring single.
