Game Notes

Twins walk off with a 7-6 win over the White Sox in 10 innings.

Minnesota recovers from losing the lead in the top of the 9th and falling behind in the 10th, when Jim Thome drives a pitch from Matt Thornton into the night for a 2-run HR and game-winner in the opener of a 3-game series between the AL Central's top 2 teams. Thome's clout gives the Twins a 4-game lead over Chicago and ties him for the most-ever walk-off HRs.

The Twins held a 5-4 lead in the 9th before Alexei Ramirez homers off closer Matt Capps. Then Ramirez gives Chicago a 6-5 lead with an RBI single in the 10th setting the stage for Thome's dramatic blast.
