Braves stun the Pirates 3-2 in the 9th.

Atlanta scores 3 in the bottom of the 9th to return to the World Series as unlikely hero Francisco Cabrera drives home the tying and winning runs with 2 outs as Sid Bream beats Barry Bonds' throw to the plate. Doug Drabek was stellar for Pittsburgh, scattering 5 hits before Terry Pendleton leads off the 9th with a double.

Drabek departs after an error by Jose Lind and a walk by Bream loads the bases. Stan Belinda induces Ron Gant into a fly ball that scores Pendleton. Damon Berryhill's walk loads the bases before a soft liner by Brian Hunter for the 2nd out. Cabrera provides the dramatic finish after just 10 MLB at-bats during the season.

The Pirates had opened a 2-0 lead against John Smoltz. Orlando Merced plates the 1st run, in the top of the 1st, with a Sac Fly and then Andy Van Slyke adds an RBI single in the 6th.
