Jimmy Key out-duels Tom Glavine to help Toronto take a 3-1 lead in the series. Key goes 7 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run before departing after Ron Gant scores on a groundout by Mark Lemke, cutting the Jays' lead to 2-1.

Toronto broke a scoreless tie with Pat Borders led off the 3rd with a HR off Glavine. Devon White singles home Kelly Gruber with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th to push the lead to 2-0. Glavine goes the distance allowing 6 hits and 4 walks.
