Padres edge the Braves 3-2 in 10 innings.

San Diego takes a very delayed series lead on Ken Caminiti's solo HR off Kerry Ligtenberg in the 10th inning. After a 2-plus hour rain delay, the Padres were poised to take the 1st game before Atlanta rallies against closer Trevor Hoffman to tie it in the bottom of the 9th.

San Diego cruised along behind Andy Ashby, who allowed just 5 hits including a solo HR to Andruw Jones in the 3rd. However, Ryan Klesko draws a walk off Hoffman in the 9th and goes 1st to 3rd on a single by Javy Lopez before scoring on Jones' Sac Fly to tie it 2-2.

The Padres had put together a lead, tying it in the 5th on Tony Gwynn's RBI single off John Smoltz, and then Ruben Rivera leads off the 8th with a double, advancing to 3rd on a line out. Rivera then beats Andres Galarraga's throw home from 1st place following a weak ground ball, to give San Diego a 2-1 lead.
