The AL All-Stars batter Roger Clemens in the 1st inning and turn the game into a rout. The American League strikes for 6 runs in the top of the 1st as Ichiro Suzuki leads off with a double and Ivan Rodriguez follows with a triple. Manny Ramirez delivers a one-out, 2-run HR before a single and an error set the table for a 3-run HR by Alfonso Soriano.

Sammy Sosa answers for the National League with an RBI single off Mark Mulder in the bottom of the 1st. But the AL Stars open a 7-1 lead before the NL Stars claw back into the game with 3 runs in the 4th. However, David Ortiz's 2-run HR in the 6th puts rest to any rally hopes.
