Colorado pounds out 16 hits to beat Atlanta. Jeff Reed, Andres Galarraga and Vinny Castilla do most of the heavy damage combining for 6 RBIs, while each collecting 3 hits and 2 runs.

Chris Brock makes his MLB debut for the Braves, departing after 4 innings with a 4-3 lead. However, Brad Clontz gives up the lead in the 6th, allowing a 1-out single to Castilla ahead of a 2-run HR by Reed. John Thomson gets the win, going 6 2/3 innings allowing 9 hits and 4 runs.
