Brian Fisher delivers on the mound and at the plate at Pittsburgh takes the opener on a wet, chilly night. Fisher goes 6 innings, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs to beat Chicago for the 3rd time of the season. He also collects 2 hits, including an RBI double to put the Pirates ahead for good 2-1 in the 2nd.

Pittsburgh jumps on Rick Sutcliffe early with Sid Bream tying it on a solo HR in the 2nd and then Jose Lind delivering a 2-run double in the 5th, and scoring on Andy Van Slyke's double for a 5-1 lead.
