The White Sox break through against Mike Boddicker with a 4-run 6th inning to take a 5-2 lead. Jerry Hairston delivers an RBI double and Steve Lyons and Julio Cruz add RBI singles in the frame.

The Orioles got to Joel Davis with an RBI double by Jim Dwyer and RBI single by Cal Ripken, Jr. in the 3rd. However, Gene Nelson and Dave Schmidt combine to provide 6 1/3 innings of stellar relief.
