Colorado strike against Mark Wohlers and Atlanta's bullpen after Greg Maddux had pitched 8 scoreless innings of 4-hit ball. Walt Weiss starts the 9th with a walk off Wohlers and then Ellis Burks follows with a single before Larry Walker lines a single to right and Weiss beats Andruw Jones' throw to the plate to score the tying run.

Mike Cather is unable to stem the damage, allowing a 2-run double to Andres Galarraga on his 2nd pitch.

John Thomson had held the Braves to 7 hits, including a solo HR by Ryan Klesko over 7 innings.
