San Diego puts a dent in Colorado's slim playoff hopes on the strength of 2 big blasts. After Larry Walker tags Andy Ashby for a 3-run HR in the 1st, Ken Caminiti answers with his own 3-run shot off John Thomson in the bottom of the 1st.

Walker gives the Rockies a brief 4-3 lead with a solo HR in the 6th. However, Caminiti leads off the bottom of the 6th with a single and Wally Joyner follows with 2-run HR to center.

Ashby weathers the rocky 1st inning to go 8 innings, striking out 11 while allowing just 4 hits.
