Yankees have the answers for the Dodgers in a 5-3 win.

New York bounces back from dropping Game 2, and then rebounds after Los Angeles erases an early 3-0 lead. Mickey Rivers is the spark plug for the Yankees, collecting 3 hits, including a leadoff double that starts a 3-run 1st, and then adds an RBI groundout for the go-ahead run in the 4th. Chris Chambliss adds an RBI single in the 5th.

New York jumps on Tommy John in the 1st as Thurman Munson doubles home Rivers, and then Reggie Jackson and Lou Piniella follow with RBI singles. The Dodgers answer with a 3-run blast by Dusty Baker in the 3rd to tie it.

However, Torrez weathers the rally and pitches in and out of trouble throughout, but goes the distance, scattering 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9.
