Dodgers hammer the Yankees 10-4 to stay alive.

Los Angeles gets an early spark and erupts in the middle innings. Davey Lopes leads off the with a triple and scores on a single by Bill Russell before Don Gullett can record an out. Gullett weathers early storms before the Dodgers strike with a 4-run 4th inning and a 3-run 5th.

Dusty Baker singles home Steve Garvey in the 4th and then scores on a 3-run HR by Steve Yeager. Baker and Lee Lacy string together RBI singles in the 5th ahead of a Sac Fly by Yeager. Los Angeles adds 2 more runs in the 6th for a 10-0 lead.

Don Sutton is able to coast, keeping New York scoreless until the Yankees score a pair of runs in each of the 7th and 8th innings.
