Cardinals rally for a 6-5 win over the Giants.

St. Louis erases a 4-0 deficit to avoid dropping a 2nd straight to San Francisco. The Giants struck for 4 runs against Joe Magrane and appeared to have the game under control behind Atlee Hammaker before he wavers.

Jeffrey Leonard homers for his 3rd straight game as part of San Francisco's early surge. However, a 2-run HR by Jim Lindeman off Hammaker in the 6th gives St. Louis life. Hammaker runs out of gas in the 7th, departing after allowing a leadoff single to Jose Oquendo. Don Robinson enters and yields consecutive singles to Curt Ford, Dan Driessen and Vince Coleman as the Cardinals take the lead.
