Cardinals beat up the Twins 7-2.

St. Louis evens the series thanks to a 6-run eruption in the 4th to break up a 1-1 tie. The Cardinals get the best of Minnesota ace Frank Viola, as Tom Lawless clubs a 3-run HR to leftfield for just the 2nd HR of his career. Jim Lindeman follows up with an RBI single and Willie McGee adds a 2-run double.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals patch together a solid pitching performance with Bob Forsch delivering relief after Greg Matthews is unable to make it through the 4th due to a muscle injury. Ken Dayley polishes off the Twins.
