Oakland bolts out to an 8-0 lead before San Francisco stages a rally cutting the lead to 2, before Todd Burns and Dennis Eckersly close out the Giants. Mike Moore had turned over an 8-2 lead to the bullpen after tossing 6 innings of 5-hit ball.

Rickey Henderson sparks the A's attack with a single, triple, HR and 2 runs. Henderson led off the game with a HR off Don Robinson. Moore helps his own cause with a 2-run double in the 3rd before scoring on Dave Henderson's single for a 4-0 lead.

The Giants battle back with 2 runs in the 6th, then plate 4 more in the 7th before Rickey Henderson catches a towering shot by Kevin Mitchell against the wall with a runner on base to end the rally.
