Cincinnati jumps on Mike Moore and then Scott Sanderson early to take a 3-0 lead in the series. Oakland had taken a 2-1 lead on Harold Baines' 2-run HR in the second, but then the floodgates open against Moore and Sanderson.

The Reds rally for the lead and then extend it to 5-2 on Chris Sabo's 2nd HR of the game. After Moore departs with 2 outs in the 3rd, Cincinnati plates 3 more runs before the inning ends. Sabo sets a World Series record with 10 assists.
