Twins get the big blows in a 5-2 win over the Braves.

Minnesota takes the opener on the arm of Jack Morris and blasts of Greg Gagne and Kent Hrbek. Morris pitches into the 8th, before departing after allowing a pair of walks to start the inning. Morris allows 5 hits, 4 walks and 2 runs to go with 3 strikeouts.

The Twins take a 1-0 lead with a 2-out rally in the 3rd against Charlie Leibrandt, and then stretch the lead when Scott Leuis doubles and Kent Hrbek singles ahead of Gagne's 3-run HR in the 5th. After the Braves get on the board in the 6th, Hrbek answers with a solo HR in the bottom of the inning.
