Braves finally can celebrate, beating the Indians 1-0.

Tom Glavine pitches a gem and David Justice steps up as Atlanta finally wins a championship after losing the World Series in 2 consecutive years and losing in the NLCS in the 3rd year. Cleveland gets to taste the disappointment after posting the best regular season record.

Justice had landed in the spotlight after complaining about Atlanta fans being quiet. But he changed jeers to cheers by crushing an offering from Jim Poole, launching it into the right field stands to leadoff the bottom of the 6th. The Braves had numerous opportunities against Dennis Martinez, but failed to capitalize.

Glavine, the longest standing member of the team during its run from obscurity to championships, delivers on the big stage, allowing just 1 hit in 8 innings before Mark Wohlers pitched a perfect 9th. Tony Pena lead off the 6th for Cleveland's only hit, but Glavine pitches out of trouble.
