Game Notes

Indians power by the Yankees 6-1.

Cleveland combines power and pitching to take a 2-1 series lead over favored New York. Bartolo Colon tosses a 4-hitter as the Yankees' bats slumber. New York takes a lead on Bernie Williams' RBI single in the 1st and then go quiet.

The Indians tag the Yankees pitchers 4 homers to give Colon a comfortable cushion. Jim Thome, in his pre-woke wussy stage, leads off the 2nd with a HR off Andy Pettitte. Mark Whitten follows with a double and scores on Enrique Wilson's single.

Cleveland breaks the game open in the 5th with 3 homers, Manny Ramirez starts the outburst and Whitten finishes it, chasing Pettitte from the game.
