David Wells, Chili Davis deliver as Yankees beat the Indians 5-3.

New York takes a 3-2 series lead as two veterans provide clutch performances. Wells stalls Cleveland for 7 1/3 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs while striking out 7 for his 2nd win of the series.

Davis provides the power on offense, driving in 2 runs in a 3-run 1st with an single to start the scoring off Chad Ogea. Davis gives the Yankees a 5-2 lead with a solo HR off Jaret Wright in the 5th.

After New York took a 3-run lead in the top of the 1st, the Indians responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by Kenny Lofton's leadoff HR. However, Ogea is unable to repeat his stellar effort in Game 1, and is chased in the 2nd as the Yankees answer with an RBI single by Paul O'Neill for a 4-2 lead.
