Clemens blanks Seattle on 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 15. Clemens flirts with trouble in the 7th with New York holding a 3-0 lead, when Al Martin breaks up the no-hitter with a leadoff double, and John Olerud walks, but Clemens strikes out Mike Cameron to end the threat.

Meanwhile, Paul Abbott turns in a solid effort attempting to match Clemens, until Derek Jeter delivers a 2-out, 3-run HR in the 5th to breakup the scoreless deadlock. David Justice adds a 2-run HR in the 8th for insurance.
