For the 2nd straight game, Detroit's pitching shuts down Boston, holding the Red Sox hitless through 5 innings while building a 5-0 lead. However, Boston breaks through in the 6th with 2 hits and 1 run.

Then the Red Sox load the bases in the 8th before David Ortiz delivers a momentum changing Grand Slam off Joaquin Benoit. An inning, later, Jarrod Saltalamacchia singles home the winning run.
