St. Louis takes the opener as Carlos Beltran singles home David Decalso in the 13th breaking deadlock that lasted since the 3rd inning. Pitching dominates, as the 2 staffs allow just 16 hits combined over the 12+ innings.

Los Angeles had struck 1st with 2 runs off Joe Kelly in the top of the 3rd, but St. Louis responds with a 2-run double by Beltran off of Greinke in the bottom half of the innings. Greinke scatters 4 hits over 8 innings while striking out 10.
