Michael Wacha and a strong bullpen effort even the series for St. Louis. Wacha goes 6 innings, allowing just 3 hits, but one is a 2-run bomb by David Ortiz for a 2-1 Boston lead in the 6th.

However, the Cardinals start a rally against John Lackey in the top of the 7th and take the lead 3-2 when Mike Carpenter hits a Sac Fly and ta throwing error by Craig Breslow allows John Jay to also score on the play. Carlos Beltran pads the lead with an RBI single.
