Games Notes

Blue Jays top the Rangers 6-3 after a crazy, controversial 7th inning.

After Texas takes a 3-2 lead on a bizarre errant throw from catcher Russell Martin hits Shin-Soo Choo's bat, allowing Rougned Odor to sore from 3rd in the top of the 7th, Toronto bounces back with 4 runs in the bottom half of the inning to advance to the ALCS.

Cole Hamels is unable to protect the lead as the defense melts down in the 7th. Elvis Andrus boots a ball as Martin leads off. Andrus is unable to handle an errant throw by Mitch Moreland on a fielder's choice. The Blue Jays then load the bases when Fielder drops a throw on a sac bunt. Ben Revere's fielder's choice groundout scores the tying run.

Sam Dyson then gives up a 3-run blast to Jose Bautista, who then glares at Dyson and does a ridiculously over-the-top bat flip that typifies the respectless generation of players being imported, precipitating the benches clearing when Dyson comments about it. The benches then clear again when Dyson and Troy Tulowitzki bump leaving the field after the inning. The end result includes debris being thrown on the field and a delay in the game.
