Harvey strikes out 9, and allows 4 hits and 2 runs over 7 2/3 innings to help New York claim the opener. Harvey makes a 4-1 lead stand up before departing after Kyle Schwarber's 461-foot blast over the centerfield wall in the 8th. Jeurys Familia finishes up for Harvey.

Jon Lester overcomes a 1st-inning solo HR by Daniel Murphy, but then runs into trouble in the middle innings, allowing an RBI-single to Curtis Granderson in the 5th, that breaks a 1-1 tie. Travis d'Arnaud adds a solo HR in the 6th, and then Granderson extends the lead to 4-1 with a Sac Fly in the 7th.
