Murphy homers in his 5th straight game, and Jacob deGrom quiets Chicago as New York takes a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. Murphy's solo shot in the 3rd gives the Mets a 2-1 lead. New York takes the lead for good on a Cubs' miscue as Michael Conforto strikes out for a 3rd out on a wild pitch, but reaches base as Yoenis Cespedes scores.

The Mets tack on two more runs in the 7th and deGrom stays in control, going 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and a walk, while striking out 7.
