Daniel Murphy's bat strikes again, as he singles and scores in the 2nd and then adds a 2-run HR in the 8th as part of a 4-for-5 night. New York gets lots of help for Murphy. Lucas Duda delivers a 3-run HR off Jason Hammel in the 1st and then adds the 2-run double in the 2nd that scores Murphy. Duda goes 3-for-5 with 5 RBI.

Steven Matz, Bartolo Colon and Addison Reed combine to quiet Chicago on 4 hits and 1 run through 7 innings as New York builds an 8-1 lead. The Cubs' productive offense stays silent as the Mets book their 1st trip to the World Series since 2000.
