Royals prevail over Mets 5-4 in 14-inning marathon.

Eric Hosmer's Sac Fly wins it after Alex Gordon's solo HR in the bottom of the 9th extends the game into extra innings. The Royals rallies from a 3-1 deficit when Hosmer has another Sac Fly in the 6th and Mike Moustakas singles home the tying run.

Hosmer's error in the 8th allowed Wilmer Flores to reach with 2 outs as Juan Lagares scores on the play giving New York a 4-3 lead. Kansas City had jumped in front when Alcides Escobar started the Royals' night with an inside-the-park HR off Matt Harvey. However, the Mets battle back with 3 runs off starter Edison Volquez.

Chris Young goes 3 innings of hitless relief to get the win for the Royals.
